OUR STORY
RICARDO
Seven years ago, I was at the MINI Plant, trying to talk my way out of paying the entry fee – just me being thrifty. There was this really pretty girl who heard the whole thing. With a bit of that Mexican charm, I somehow managed to get in for free, but I'll admit, it wasn't just charm – my brother actually worked there, so family could get in free.
After a year of asking her out and getting turned down, I finally got her to agree to meet me in Spain for a week. The idea of enjoying Jamon and tapas with a tanned Mexican racer was too tempting for her to say no to.
From day one, it was like we'd known each other forever. Our lives took a turn after that trip – it's crazy, right? A girl born in a tiny Spanish village of 300 people, making her way to Germany, and then crossing paths with a Mexican guy from Toluca while in England. And now, we're about to tie the knot in Italy.
ANNIA
Actually it was 8 years ago, that this guy came into my work place with his bright red Nissan Nismo jacket trying to get in for free.
Who did he think he was? Did he not know that he was actually at the BMW plant and not in Japan at Nissan ?!
I always wondered why he was asking me out, when I was living in Oxford and he was on the other side of the world in Mexico - the culture of virtual coffees wasn't even a thing at that time.
A year later, after a jaw-breaking incident in Thailand, during which he offered remarkable emotional encouragement, I eventually agreed to meet him in Spain. Before stepping into the plane, I had to explain to my mum that I had to fly to Barcelona one day after my second surgery in the UK to see a random guy, who I barely even knew at that time.
She wasn't as surprised as I thought - I think I had done worse to my mum in the past.
Since then we have shared so so many memories together. We have traveled around the world, have seen so many different places and met so many great people. We have celebrated on podiums and powered through our lowest – all side by side.
ANNIA & RICARDO
We're really lucky to have you in our lives and we can't wait to celebrate life with a refreshing Aperol Spritz in Tuscany together.
We're super excited to share drinks, sing along, dance our hearts out, enjoy delicious food, and create even more great memories together.
Cheers to all of us!

THINGS TO DO
Tuscany is one of our favourite holiday destinations! Check out some of our most-loved restaurants, cities and tourist attractions below to help you plan the perfect itinerary.

Siena
We visited Siena in 2020 and loved it. If you want to have the full experience of a warm summer night go for an Aperitivo at the Piazza del Campo and enjoy some live music. In the evening you should visit Ristorante Mugolone Siena for an amazing dinner experience.

Pienza
Pienza is probably one of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany. Very close by you find this little chapel (in the picture above) which looks stunning with the Tuscan scenary.
We can recommend you, going to Pienza in the evening, watching the sunset from this amazing place Bar Il Casello, while enjoying a glass of wine and some cheese.

Florence
Visit Annia's favorite city in Italy and go to the stunning Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
If you fancy good food, we can recommend you Trattoria Sergio Gozzi, a very traditional restaurant. For some amazing pasta, La Giostra and for a quick but filling bite All' Antico Vinaio.

Montalcino
While we are already giving you all our food recommendations.. THE place to go for amazing food in Montalcino is Enoteca Les Barriques. Try the Brunello vino produced by them.
It was recommended to us by an italian colleague of Annia's. So, this is a real insider tip ;)

Pisa
Grab a Gelato from Gelateria De’ Coltelli and take a 12-min walk to the Pisa Tower. Enjoy your treat on the grass by the Mura di Pisa. Hurry, the ice cream won't wait!

Wine Tasting
We stayed at Agriturismo La Fattoria di Capezzana one night and enjoyed a beautiful evening at their terrace. You can do a wine tasting of their own products, cooking classes or even a guided e-bike tour.
Disclosure: Most of these photos were taken during the quiet days of Covid, when streets were emptier.
Now, especially around mid-August, things might look livelier!
